Ingredients
- 1 recipe homemade pizza dough OR 2 packages store bought
- 2 TB olive oil
- 1 cup garlic pizza sauce
- 6 oz. lump crabmeat, drained
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 12 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1/2 cup diced green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- 2 jalapeños, cored and sliced
- 2 tsp minced flat leaf parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 500°F and oil two sheet pans.
- Shape your dough into two 10-12″ circles, places on the sheet pans, then brush the tops with olive oil, leaving about 1″ around the edges for the crust. You can either roll the edges to create a thicker crust or leave as is. Set aside to rise for 10 minutes
- On each pizza, spread about 1/2 cup garlic pizza sauce and half the crabmeat, then top with 2 cups mozzarella cheese, half the crumbled bacon, 1/4 cup green bell pepper, 1/4 cup red onion and half the sliced jalapeños.
- Bake 5 minutes on the bottom rack, then transfer to the top rack for an additional 5-10 minutes. The top should be dry and the bottom golden brown. Use a fork to gently lift the bottom of the pizza to check.
- Garnish with minced flat leaf parsley (optional), cut into slices and serve warm.
Notes
If using store bought dough, use the baking directions listed on the package.
This recipe and the two linked recipes make two pizzas. If you only want one, halve each recipe.
For ultimate cheesiness, get a block of cheese and shred it yourself. Bagged cheese has an anti-caking agent that prevents it from melting as nicely.
Substitute jarred sliced jalapeños for the fresh ones for a spicier pizza.
