I absolutely love today’s recipe. Instant Pot Chili is so easy and requires just a few ingredients.

I make a version in the slow cooker, but now with my Instant Pot, why would I cook something for 4-8 hours when I can have the same results in half an hour?

Instant Pot Chili in an Instant Pot

I love my Instant Pot, and if you’re on the fence about getting one you can get it here. I’ve never felt unsafe using it (though do not jump into it blindly; learn how to use it correctly). And while I don’t think it should be used for every dish on earth, generally anything you can make in a slow cooker can be made in a pressure cooker.

Like this chili! And some of my other favorites: Classic Mashed Potatoes, Charro Beans and Jalapeno Popper Mashed Potatoes.

This Instant Pot Chili is amazing on its own, but I love making things like chili dogs, frito pie, and chili cheese sweet potato fries (the sweet and spicy/savory goes with them so well).

So give it a shot and let me know what you think!

Until next time. X

Use your preferred brand of salsa, or a homemade recipe. Salsas with “chipotle” in the name work well in this chili.

  1. Just made it tonight and it is delicious! I did add some low sodium chicken broth as it was too thick for us, and also used a jar of salsa and can of chopped tomatoes.

We will be making this again for sure.

  2. I will never buy a can of chili again. This recipe simply is the best! Tried two versions. On the first one I did not have salsa so substituted the same amount of diced tomatoes and peppers. Good but not excellent. The next time I used the yellow type, medium chunky salsa and WOW! Beats the pants off any canned chili and sooooo good. Staple for the upcoming cold winter months. Great job!
